Pursuing a higher education in agricultural studies is a valuable investment in human resources.   The first agricultural college in the Arabian peninsula, the College was established in 1965 with the aim to achieve excellence in all fields.  The first location of the College was a beautiful palace west of Riyadh.   A vast land area around the palace was utilized for experimental plots, greenhouse laboratories, and a dairy and animal farm.  In 1985, the College was re-located to the main campus.   The college has eight departments offering 10 BSc and 13 MSc degrees, in addition to two joint programs in biological diversity and environmental studies.  The College also offers three PhD programs. The College has a well-trained teaching staff and researchers with significant achievements in their projects, publishing, and editing and translating of books.   Several faculty members have been awarded prestigious prizes for their work.  A large number of books, and scientific and extension bulletins have been edited or translate, in addition to more than 70 national research projects in food, agriculture, and environmental fields.   The College plays a significant role in designing the strategic plans for agriculture, food, water, and the environment in the Kingdom.  Many faculty members work as consultants in the governmental and private sectors providing their expertise in their fields.  Recently the College was named the Center of Excellence in bio-technology.                           Dean,  Prof. Abdullah A.
