  College Contributions in the area of society service 

1-     A great number of Saudi and Arab experts, specialists and engineers have been graduated from the college, and strongly contributed to the service of  agricultural sector.  Also some of them have had administrative posts both in the governmental and private sector.

2-     The college provides technical, economical, and technological consultation services for agricultural and industrial sectors in the Kingdom such as Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Agricultural Bank, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Township and Rural Affairs, the Arab Urban Development Institute, the General Administration for Civil Defense, and some incorporations and companies in the private sector.

3-     Providing learning and training sessions and workshops to the related governmental organizations such as the Agricultural Bank, Ministry of Township and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Labor, the General Administration for Civil Defense, the Arab Urban Development Institute, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

4-     Accomplishing several applied and engineering research projects that serve the agricultural and industrial sectors in the Kingdom, where more than 70 national research projects were accomplished.  Such research projects were financed by King Abdul-Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Saudi Arabia Basic Industrial Company (SABIC) and others.  In addition, many smaller projects were performed under the support of the college research center, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz center for the environment, water, and desert research, KACST, SABIC, and others, in addition to the college contribution in the custodian of the two holy mosques project for the harvesting of rain water.

5-     The College contributed in designing the strategic plans for the agriculture, water, and food in the Kingdom.

6-     Some of the faculty members work as part time or full time consultants in the governmental and private sectors to provide their expertise in their fields. 

7-     Writing and translating more than 500 books and scientific and extension bulletins.

8-     Cooperation with the media (radio, newspapers, and TV) for enlightening the society in the agricultural, water, nutritional, and environmental issues.

9-     Two scientific societies are located in the college: Saudi Society of Agricultural Sciences and the Saudi Society of Food and Nutrition.

10-                        The faculty members contribute in refereeing papers sent for publication in international, Arab, and local Journals, and in evaluating some proposed research projects sent to different financing agencies such as King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and others.

11-                        Several conferences, symposia, workshops, and specialized shows and exhibitions are held in the College.  Also, the college participates in the specialized agricultural shows and exhibitions, such as the agricultural exhibition, the annual flowers show, and the Al-Jenadriyah Heritage & Cultural Festival.

12-                        The college usually participates in some educational weeks such as the university and society week, tree-planting week, and the water week for the Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
