The Department presents integrated training courses in the field of identification and diagnosing of the different plant pathogens and insects in general (e.g. field and horticultural insects, medical & veterinary insects, stored grains insects and the honey bees), and also in the field of pesticides, environment and pollution resulted from different environmental pollutants
The department offers a number of the extentional services in several fields including:

	Diagnosing plant diseases (diseases caused by viruses, fungi, bacteria, and nematodes).
	General Entomology (insects).
	Optimization of the pesticides use, in general
	Environment, pollution and the agricultural safety
	Evaluation the Saudi standardizations
	Evaluation the research proposals introduced to the scientific authorities & King Abdul- Aziz city for Science and Technology
	Organizing conferences and scientific meetings which discuss the researches concerning the department specifications, making plans to solve the problems caused by plant pests, and suggesting their measures of control
	Bee and bee-keepers, and testing the honey samples
	Water analysis and determining its validity in the agricultural and human use

	Judging the M. Sc. Thesis in the King Saud University and other Universities in the Kingdom.
	Presenting lectures and educational symposia in the field of agricultural, medical and veterinary insects, plant disease, pesticides, toxins, pollutants and environmental health, in general
	Preparing extensional & educational pamphlets and reprints in the field of the specifications of the Department in a cooperation with the Agricultural Extension Center and other related centers.
