Anesthesia services was a division within the surgical department. The department has three objectives:
• Clinical Services
• Teaching
• Research.
In the 1986 the department established a three year Master’s program. which in 1989 had been upgraded to a 4-year Residency Training Program known as King Saud Fellowship in Anesthesia & Intensive Care..The department is participating actively in the councils of the Saudi and Arab Board Specialty of Anesthesia and Intensive Care.
