Message from the head of the department:
The department of medical biochemistry was established in 1971 in the college of medicine and King Khalid University hospital. It has a long standing and impressive history within King Saud University. It contains up-to-date instruments in the field of molecular biology and analytical biochemistry. It offers courses in medical and clinical biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology to medical students as well as postgraduates and residents. We also provide diagnostic services for the patients in the field of clinical biochemistry. We are also interested in promotional researches in different fields. Currently, the department is focusing on obesity research. We are collaborating with international research centers in Canada, New Zealand and United Kingdom.
