Department of Dermatology at the College of Medicine has been established in 1997. Since then the department underwent continuous development. Currently, it is considered the biggest department among dermatology departments in Saudi Arabia. It includes a unique group of dermatologist with varieties of different specialties equipped with the highest technology devices in the field. The department has different divisions including (1) Cutaneous Laser surgery Division (2) Phototherapy Division, (3) Allergy & Immuno-dermatology Division (4) Pediatric Dermatology Division. Each one of them presents the best service in its field. Moreover, the department provides medical students with a comprehensive undergraduate dermatology course. A structured residency program is also available and considered the largest program in the country, where 16 residents rotate at the university hospitals and affiliated medical centers. The program is a representation of a new learning process of integration of basic and clinical sciences. The residency program at KSU is accredited by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties and the Arab Board.
