About us
The Department of Nursing provides, within the available material and human resources, skilled nursing care to all patients at the hospital. This care is based on individual plans of care and it is delivered taking into account the religious and cultural requirements of the patients. There is a comprehensive professional development programmed for all staff in the Department of Nursing shared with Department of Nursing King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH).
In addition, Nursing provides clinical experience for many groups of students in particular those from the BSc in Nursing Programe, and the BSc in Health Administration from the King Saud University, Nursing College, College of Applied Medical Sciences and students from other educational institutions.
There is a strong focus on developing evidence based practice and nurses are encouraged to improve quality of care through unit based quality improvement groups. With over 1,200 staff, the Department of Nursing functions with colleagues from all disciplines throughout the hospital. There is an active commitment to health promotion and the department has been instrumental in organizing a number of successful exhibitions. There are six major clinical units, each managed by an Associate Director of Nursing. The whole Nursing Administration is overseen by the Deputy Directors of Nursing and Director of Nursing.
The main office for Nursing Administration is on the third floor (block 31) of the New Clinic Building.
