501 Law – Civil Liability in Comparative Jurisprudence   3rs.

This course is concerned with all types and principles of Civil Liabilities. It studies legal and Shari'a rules in terms of how to allocate liability and how to estimate compensation. In this concern, the course emphasizes on the role of the victim and the wrongdoing person and its influence on the liability and its extent. It also deals with the special liability arising from professional occupations' practice, for example, the liability of physicians, lawyers, accountants and engineers.

502 Law – Institutions and Constitutional Legislations in the Modern State 3 Crs.

This course covers the legal framework in which government constitutional bodies of the modern state operate and how they are supervised. A particular attention is given to the Law governing constitutional bodies in Saudi Arabia which is derived from the Islamic Shari'a Law.

503 Law – Legal Schools Of Legal Jurisprudence              3 Crs.

This course extensively explores traditional and modern schools of legal thought that constitute the basis for the various legal systems. It covers the Anglo-Saxon legal system, the Civil legal system and the Islamic legal system. It is also concerned with the determination of the aims of the legal principle and to what extent they have been achieved in the light of contemporary social, economical and political changes. Besides that, it discusses the effects of the differences between these systems in understanding and interpreting the law.

504 Law – Criminal Liability                                                  3 Crs.

This course studies the general legal theory of criminal liability. It is also concerned with the concept of criminal liability and types of facilitating and commitence of crimes, and studies the effect of criminal liability on civil liability.

505 Law – Selected Topics in Civil Procedural Law            3 Crs. 

This course is concerned with the study of the civil legal procedures through a comparative study between the philosophy of the laws of civil judgment and the philosophy of the Islamic judicial procedural rules. The course deals with the role of both the judge and adversaries in the procedure from the start of bringing an action to the time of issuing the decision.   It also studies the penalties for any breach of the procedural rules.

506 Law – Selected Topics in Administrative Law 3 Crs.

The course covers the legal framework in which the Governmental bodies operate. It concentrates upon determining the legal concept of the governmental public body and its various types. It also studies the general theory of civil services and the theories of administrative decisions and administrative contracts

540 Law – Comparative Criminal Procedures                           3 Crs.

The main objective of this course is to make a comparative study between the criminal law procedures of Saudi Arabia and other legal systems.   In this regard, the course will particularly focus on the study of the legal procedures of a criminal case, the rules of arrest and protective custody, investigation's procedures, the subsequent procedures of a criminal case and its regulative rules.

541 Law – International Criminal Law                                    3 Crs.

This course covers some types of criminal activities which constitute a threat to the international community in general, such as, terrorism, money laundering, drug trafficking and human trafficking. The course gives an intensive study of the national and international organizations setup to combat these crimes and the international treaties related to these issues.

542 Law – Criminology and Criminal Codifications                 3 Crs.

This course explains the policy of incrimination in terms of explaining the reasons of incriminating malfeasance acts and the interests protected by such incrimination. The study of this subject also involves the examination of the penalty policy, the legal systems of houses of correction, the philosophy of physical, financial and custodial sentences and precautionary measures.

543 Law - Economical Criminal Law                                        3 Crs.

The aim of this course is to study the legal rules of the criminal laws protecting economical activities through stating kinds of crimes in conjunction with them, for instance, crimes related to trust, fraud, cheating, unlawful speculation, crimes concerned with companies and economy and crimes in respect of money markets practices and the legal responsibility arising thereunder.

545 Law – The Science of Punishment                                      3 Crs.

The course's aim is to study the procedures which are followed to penalize criminals and determine whether the punishment is appropriate in terms of both private and public prevention of crimes. The curriculum of the course also involves the discussion of the legal systems of reformative and punitive institutions and the clarification of the philosophy of physical, financial and restraining of liberty penalties and preventative measures.

546 Law – The Science of Victim                                                         3 Crs.

This course highlights the role of the victim in criminal offences and whether there should be a precautionary policy to protect him/her against crime and the required legal securities to protect

and compensate him/her for losses resulting thereof.

544 Soc – Criminology                                                                        3 Crs.

This course is concerned with the study of some criminal behaviour within the Saudi Arabian society and attempts to explain them through exploring the main theories of the causes of such crimes. It gives an intensive study into certain types of crimes such as revenge killing, juvenial, sexual and computer crimes.

547 Soc – The Science of Criminal Sociology                           3 Crs.

This course aims at studying illegitimate acts as a social phenomena caused by a group of factors leading to the committing of or protecting against crime, such as home, school, religion, politics, media and economy.

548 Law cases and criminal analysis                                 3 Crs.

This course aims at providing the students with the skill to analyse specific criminal cases and select the convenient method for each case.
