Saudi Arabia established the General Political Science in 1405 in the e Department of Political Science, King Saud University.
The aim of the Assembly to the development of scientific thought in the political arena and the opportunity for industry professionals to contribute to the development of political thought in Saudi Arabia in particular and the Arab world in general, which could lead to the exchange of scientific production and scientific ideas in the field of political science, and thus contribute to the formation of mobility of political science which will contribute to the movement of scientific progress and the building of theoretical frameworks and practical knowledge of politics and serve as well as seeking to facilitate the exchange of scientific production and scientific ideas in a discipline of political science through the creation of research centers and centers for strategic studies and specialized centers, at home and abroad, and knowledge networking with political associations the scientific level of the Arab nation and the world.
The Assembly held a Saudi political science its founding on the first Monday 27/10/1429 AH 27/10/2008 at King Saud University, for the selection of the Governing Council of the Assembly.
Participated in the meeting of the general assembly a large number of specialists in political science from the University of King Saud University and Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and King Abdul Aziz, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals King Faisal University and the Diplomatic Institute and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some government institutions.

The director said His Excellency King Saud University, Prof. Dr. / Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Uthman, the university donated half a million Saudi riyals of the General Political Science to begin its activities and programs to be a leader in the service of the science and knowledge.

Aim of the Saudi Society of Political Science, hereinafter referred to as the (Assembly) to achieve the following:
A) the development of scientific thought in the area of specialization and development.
B) provide an opportunity for those involved in the concerns of the Assembly to contribute to the scientific progress in this area.
C) To facilitate the exchange of scientific production and scientific ideas in the area between the interests of the relevant bodies and organizations within and outside the Kingdom.
D) Providing advice and carrying out the studies necessary to raise the level of performance in the areas of interest in the various institutions and bodies.
- the activity of the Assembly:
Achieve its objectives set forth in the General (2) all appropriate means and, in particular, have to exercise the following activities:
A) Promote scientific research procedures in the area of interest and related areas of knowledge, and disseminate the results of this research, distribution and exchange with the bodies concerned.
B) The holding of conferences, symposia and seminars to discuss issues related to the areas of attention of the Assembly after approval by the competent authorities of the university.
C) The issuance of a magazine or a periodical dealing with secret research and studies related to areas of interest in the Assembly.
D) The organization of scientific and cultural competitions in the area of competence.
E) scientific mission with the consent of the competent authorities of the university.
- Membership:
Membership of three types:
A) Honorary membership:
Given to those chosen by the General Services who provided material or moral, or contributed to the development of areas of concern within and outside the Kingdom, and the selection of a member of the honor a decision of the General Assembly, on the nomination of the Governing Council and a member of the honor are exempt from the requirement of payment of registration fees and contributions.
To honor a member of the public to attend meetings of the General Assembly and various committees and participate in discussions without having counted the voice in making decisions or the conduct of elections.
B) Membership of working:
And enjoy all of it meets the membership requirements set forth in (5) of those with a university degree in the area of the General or the holders of university degree and working in the field of diplomatic, political, and required in the member group to be resident in Saudi Arabia.
C) Membership of the affiliation:

- conditions and procedures for membership:
Required member of the Assembly as follows:
A) Must be of good character, good reputation, have not previously been sentenced in a crime involving moral turpitude or account.
B) Be paid as determined by the Assembly of the registration fees and annual subscriptions.
C) To make students active membership or association membership application for membership in the Assembly.
Recommend that the student membership are members of the Assembly.
D) The applications for membership and membership association working to the board of the Assembly and the application will be considered acceptable only on a decision of the Governing Council, and a student membership to the decision of the Council regarding the request.
- Expiry of term of office:
Term of membership of the Assembly in the following cases:
A) The withdrawal of the member.
B) has been a member of one of the conditions for membership.
C) a member of the delay in the payment of the annual subscription to the date of entitlement for a full year, not subject to membership in this case only after notice to the member must pay the contribution and impact of non-paid, and the notification shall be in the last three months of the year in question.
D) any action or activity that results in damage to physical or moral, and the Assembly must be preceded by dropping membership in this case an investigation by the Board of Directors and a member of the responsibility to prove it.
* In all cases referred to in this article does not end, however, ended by a decision of the Governing Council, and shall notify the member of the decision to terminate membership or dropped during the two weeks of issuance, and recovered in all cases the member has already paid the fees under or contributions or donations or donations or otherwise.
- Restoration of membership:
May be eligible for membership to the member who lost for the reason set out in paragraph (c) of Article (6) the decision of the Governing Council after the payment of late fees or subscription fees for a period of three years whichever is less.
- Board of Directors:

- Chairman of the Board and his deputy:
The members of the Governing Council, including the members of King Saud University, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Vice-Chairman for two years, renewable for one-time Chairman of the Board of Directors as Chairman of the Assembly.

A) The issuance of regulations governing the internal functioning of the Assembly.
B) Adoption of the annual budget and final accounts each year.
C) adoption of the annual report on the activities of the Assembly by the Governing Council.
D) Election of members of the Governing Council.
E) Adoption of the annual work plan by the Board of Directors.
F) What is the discussion of each agenda, and requested its members to discuss matters within the scope of the work of the Assembly or the interest and take the appropriate decisions.
G) The resolutions of the General Assembly in force after the approval of the Director of the university.
- And the budget of the Assembly:
Of the Assembly consists of:
A) registration fees and annual subscription fees of members.
B) the proceeds of the sell of the publications and bulletins.
C) the complexity of the duties of the training courses or programs.
D) donations and contributions, grants and subsidies provided to the State or public or private bodies or individuals, which the Governing Council decides to accept it.
E) annual aid to be decided by the university.
* The Accountant General of its annual budget, including projected revenues and expenses incurred, and submit to the Governing Council, which offered after the approval by the General Assembly for approval.
The fiscal year begins on the first of the month of Rajab of every year and ends at the end of the month of June of the following year.
Followed in controlling the accounts of the methods used in public institutions in the State.
Appointed by the Governing Council from among its members as Secretary of Finance as well as secretary will be responsible to the Council for the business and financial conduct of the Assembly, as the auditor of the University Assembly and the control account budget time at the end of each financial year and submit its report to the Governing Council to present the final account with the General Assembly.
That the Governing Council to renew the terms of reference of both the President and the Vice President and Secretary of Finance and Secretary.
- Temporary and final provisions:
