Objectives and Tasks of the Research Center:

The Research Center of the College of Tourism and Archaeology aims to achieve the  following tasks:

First: To encourage and motivate the teaching staff and graduate students of the College to conduct research and scientific studies (individual and joint), both desktop (theoretical) and fieldwork by providing assistance and support.

Second:  Contribute to the full or partial funding of research projects in the fields of interest to the College’s Departments and their various specializations (archaeology, museum studies, restoration and conservation, tourism management, hotel management, heritage resource management and tourism guidance). 

Third: Contribute effectively in research and scientific studies, basic and applied, to achieve the aims of the specialties of the College.

Fourth: Review the scientific studies and research projects, individual or joint, according to King Saud University publication standards.

Fifth: Proposing to hold conferences, scientific symposia and meetings, training courses within the College and follow-up the implementation of plans.

Sixth: The preparation and conducting of scientific studies and research, either inside the Center or College, which may be requested by official government or private sectors.

Seventh: Promoting and developing joint research among the Departments of the College or these Departments and other Departments of the University.

Eighth: Rendering counseling services and training courses for continuing education in the community.

Ninth:  Contributing to the entire development of the community by linking research projects with the community’s needs.

Tenth: Opening more channels of scientific publications for the teaching staff and researchers and monitoring the needs of researchers to help them overcome the obstacles they may face.    

Eleventh: Asking researchers and specialists to write on topics and conduct studies thought by the Research Center to be necessary.

Twelfth:  Provide research and advisory services through units of the Research Center.
