In Consistency with these general objectives, and for placing them into execution; therefore a General Department of Law was established. Its course curriculums are concerned to illustrate public authorities in the State (Organizational - the Executive -Judicial) and to organize the relationships between them and defining the rights and duties of individuals, and the identification of human rights and responsibilities in society, and the organization of the relationship between the State and individuals when the State has the authority and sovereignty and how the State and all of its institutional or regional facilities practice its activities in administrating duties and obligations with its individuals providing public services, as well as the mechanism to adjudicate disputes when the State is involved (the Office of the Ombudsman), and the identification of expenditure and income and burden in the community through a system of Alms taxes and fees in addition to the identification of relations between the State and the rest of the other States, International organizations and the care of the International humanitarian law.

Message of the Section

The message of the Department of Public Law lies in its quest to qualify the student in law through the theoretical and practical knowledge the student receives and acquires, which are taught in the various syllabuses of the general law that are related to the organization of the legal relations of the State with all persons in the society and the organization of authorities of the State and their relationship with each other, as well as the organization of the relationship of the State with other countries.

The vision of the Public Law Section is represented in the pursuit of lofty goals and visions of King Saud University, by directing all human capacities, material and legal means to achieve further development, formation and culture in legal studies with all its parts that students, community, and faculty need.


The objectives of Section

1 - To provide skillful graduates to work in the areas of law required by the private and public sectors.
2 - To contribute to the dissemination and development of culture and legal awareness in the community, through lectures, seminars on the public law.
3 - To deepen the links between public law faculty members and students in the one hand with the organizational, executive and judicial branches on the other hand in order to make the university in the service of the community.
4 - To deepen the links between those interested in public law studies in the Kingdom with their counterparts in other countries.
5 - To encourage scientific research and literature in all areas of public law for the development of cultural and legal awareness in the Kingdom.
6 - To highlight the specificity of the legal system and constitutional institutions in the Kingdom compared to other legal systems.
7 - Study of judicial Arbitrations, particularly those issued by the Office of the Ombudsman (the administrative courts).
8 - Participation in conferences, symposia and forums within and outside the Kingdom.
9 - To provide an opportunity for those wishing to continue their higher studies in law.
