His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Uthman, the Vice chancellor of King Saud University explained that Higher Education over the past few years has witnessed greater attention from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General - God safeguards them – The Vice chancellor added that there was a significant expansion in the Higher Education, during last four years he added, more than 12 Government owned universities were established with more than 153 College of Applied science. This has greatly helped to spread university education in the Kingdom. The number of provinces covered by the university education he said, is more than 47 provinces and that Al-Kharj is one of the governorates which now has a number of Colleges of science such as the (College of Science - Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences - Faculty of Medicine - Faculty of Business Administration) and in the near future a College of Dentistry will be established in addition to Faculty of Pharmacy all of these colleges are to serve the higher education in the Governorate.

He added that King Saud University, has now more than 17 colleges outside Riyadh, and this has enabled the University to admit this year more than 20 thousand students, one of these colleges is Al Kharj, this the V.C said, confirms the concern of government and private universities to expand in order to serve the community and to accommodate more students in the various universities.


He pointed out that Al-Kharj Governorate is the home to more than four university projects, during the next 18 months will witness the completion of the Faculties of Science and community, and that there are more than 10 university towns across the kingdom to be established, the foundation stone of which was already laid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Minister of Defence and Aviation and inspector general.

He also said that Al Kharj is one of the Governorates covered by the university education and he stressed that any College opened will be for both male and females, and that the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculties of Dentistry and Pharmacy, which are in the way, will all be for male and female students what remains is the provision of buildings for them. In this regard, and under the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, The Governor of Riyadh Region, and His Royal Highness his Deputy, Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz, His Royal Highness Prince Abdurrahman bin Nasser bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Al-Kharj governorate has put great efforts to follow up and provide land where these Colleges will be established.

His Excellency Al-Othman, praised the efforts of the Minister of Education Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh al-Obeid and His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Bin Mishari Al-Miqrin, and His Excellency Dr. Saad Al Milays for supporting King Saud University and loaning these buildings for Al Kharj Colleges.


He said "by will of God in the near future there would be a number of women colleges affiliated to King Saud University in Al-Kharj Governorate" adding that
the aim of his visit was to meet with colleagues who are working in the College which is an extension of King Saud University.

He pointed out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Crown Prince received the Vice-chancellors of Saudi Universities who were honored on Saturday by receiving instructions on the expansion of the admissions and linking academic specializations with labor market requirements.


His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al-Othman, the Vice Chancellor of King Saud University had made an inspection tour of the premises of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Sciences and the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Al Kharj on Wednesday to give a close look at the needs of these colleges.


He toured the college departments to overcome any constraints encountered.


He was welcomed upon arrival by the deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science Dr. Abdurrahman Al Khedhairi and Dr. Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Awad Al Asamari and the Administrative Director of the Faculty of Applied Science Ustaz Muhammad Al Marafi and Chairman of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science Dr. Khaled Al-Ghanim and the Administrative Director of the Faculty of Science Ustaz Muslif Al Anzi and the Director of Public Relations and Computer Science of the Faculty of Science Professor Abdullah Latif Al Anazi.
