The special education department was introduced in 1429 academic year. The duration of the study in this section is four years then the student receives a Bachelor's Degree in special education in one of the following majors: Visual Disability, Hearing Disability, Mental Disability, Excellence and Innovation and Learning Difficulties The Department aims to train and rehabilitate special education teachers to work with children with special needs (the disabled and the gifted) in elementary and intermediate schools both in special education institutes of the above mentioned types of schools as well as to work in the private sector such as charity organizations that provide educational services for the disabled and the private schools which have special education programs. |

Message Of the Section
The message of the Section has three dimensions, these are:
1. The Training of Cadres:
To achieve its vision through excellence in the training of special education teachers academically, morally and educationally at the university level, and also to prepare researchers, studies and successful administrators at the postgraduate level to become faculty members at universities and work in other educational institutions.
2. Scientific Research:
Prepare national research projects and supervise the research projects it is asked to supervise, and make initiatives in proposing joint projects at national and global levels.
3. Services: provision of consultancy and training services to government and non-government institutions, diagnosis and training services to children and parents through the various specialized centers of the Section.
