Department of Physics was founded in 1427AH, since then the department adopted and worked along with the letter of the Faculty and the University. Department of Physics looks forward to the highest standards of skills in all aspects of education, research and community service. The Department aims also at preparing university students and graduates of high-quality standard, capable of meeting the challenges of labor market of the Kingdom, and in addition to providing high-quality service in the physics curriculum of academic programs for other university faculties, such as Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Al-Kharj. It also aims to disseminate the concept of physics and develop it through academic and research programs; strong and capable on competition regionally and internationally. And to achieve the goal of our department, study plans and programs have been designed in order to be at the level of the study plans of its counterparts of the advanced countries, to meet the needs of society, and at the same time, to provide many benefits to students, such as: 1- Provide students with good amount of knowledge of the basic concepts and the basic principles of physics curriculum. 2- Show clearly the important role of physics in life and other scientific fields (Chemistry - Mathematics - Biology - Geology, Astronomy - and Computer Science). 3- Develop the ability of students in observation, analysis and writing scientific reports of the practical physics tests. 4- Develop students' abilities on how to deal with physical formulas mathematically using the physical models known worldwide. 5- Provide and equip students with practical skills essential to the process of scientific research. 6- Develop the necessary skills to contribute in solving physical issues.
