INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAMME EXAMINATION RULES


– STUDENTS – 

 

BEFORE THE EXAMINATION:


1. No student is allowed to enter the examination room later than 30 minutes from the start of the examination.


2. Students should line up outside of their classrooms and enter the exam room when they are told to do so.


3. Students must place all bags, and personal belongings in front of their classrooms. No personal belongings can be brought to the exam desks.


4. All mobile phones must be switched off.


5. Students should already have their IDs and their pen(s), pencil(s), eraser(s) ready before they enter the exam room. Only pens, pencils and erasers are allowed on your exam desks. Every student must have his / her own stationery. Students are not allowed to pass anything (pens, pencils, erasers) to other candidates during the exam.


6. Students are not allowed to talk once they enter the exam room.


7. Female students are not allowed to wear their abayas during the exam.


8. Students are not allowed to bring dictionaries (electronic or paper-based) in the exam room.


9. Students must place their ID cards on their desks.

 


DURING THE EXAMINATION:


1. No student is allowed to leave the examination room in the first 30 minutes of the examination, and no student is allowed to leave the room during the last 15 minutes of the examination.


2. If a student wishes to go to the washroom, he / she will be escorted by a teacher.


3. No student is allowed to turn the exam paper when he / she enters the examination room until he /she is told to do so.


4. Students may commence writing only after the teacher has given permission to do so.


5. A student must not, for any reason, speak to or have communication with another candidate.


6. If any student wishes to ask a question, he / she must raise his / her hand and ask the teacher directly, but no questions on the meaning or interpretation of an examination question may be asked or will be answered.


7. Students must not eat or drink, except from their own water bottles, during the examination.


8. No student should cause unreasonable disruption to the examination or exhibit behaviour that unreasonably distracts or impedes other students sitting that examination.


9. No student may continue writing or add anything to an answer after the teacher has announced the end of the examination.


10. Towards the end of the examination, students must not leave the room until the teacher allows them to do so.  They must leave the room silently, and in an orderly fashion.


If a student is found breaking any of these rules during the examination, his / her paper may not be marked, and he / she may be told to leave the exam room. In addition, disciplinary action may be taken against any student found in breach of any of the examination rules, caught cheating or attempting to cheat.
